About Me :)

Hia guys, my name is Kat. I am a first year psychology major student here at UNE. I’m from a tiny town in northern Massachusetts, West Newbury. I come from a small high school, but it has been a good shift to this school since it is also pretty small in terms of typical college size. While I am up here in Maine, I have a twin brother who is at school down in Rhode Island. I have always had a love for being connected, whether that is to the people around me or my environment. Being in touch with the natural world is a huge part of who I am. Being aware of my roll in that world, and knowing what I can do to better and lessen that impact is the best thing I can do. It is important to understand that there needs to be an even give and take. This also goes for how my interact with the people around me. My friend and familial connections are some of the most important aspects of my life. Having true connections with the people in my life allows me to get to know them and to also get to know myself. Being in tune with how those around me are doing and feeling is important since there is a portion of that which I can influence. How I influence others life is up to me and it is crucial when it comes to who I surround myself with. This is a huge driving force in my decision to study psychology here. If there is a way in which I can help those around me feel better, or even less alone I will take whatever chance I have, leading me to my decision to study psychology with the intent to go into abnormal psychology.
